ConveyorsDrum SpiralInnovations in plastic belting have created a cost effective solution for drum spirals. Conventional spirals required costly belting and drive methods. The new drum spiral designs are made possible due to recent developments in plastic chains. The drum is driven at a speed approximately 1% faster than the belting drive motor, significantly reducing the chain pull load virtually eliminating friction in the curves. Aside from elevating, the drum spiral can accumulate jars, cans, bottles, or act as a bakery cooler/proofer by adding speed controls and diverting and merging options.
