When conveying or accumulating products in mass flow (or bulk,) you will need to calculate the bulk density of the product before you can determine the conveyor design. The easiest way to determine this is to make a 12″ x 12″ x 12″ box to create one cubic foot. Fill the box to the brim and weigh it. The result will be the bulk density in pounds per cubic foot. Additionally, you can count the products in the box for products per cubic foot.
